The more you share your thoughts, the faster you’ll improve and become a better person

The principles and values that have shaped my thinking

If you have been following me or know me, you know that I am very willing to share my thoughts, work experience, and learning experiences. In the last few years, in addition to regularly writing and sharing, I have also been giving lectures on more in-depth topics. As part of my ongoing efforts to help more people grow, I have developed an online product design course and a one-to-one mentoring program.

Because of sharing, I have changed and influenced myself personally, which is why I continue to devote my time to education. During my school years, I was a one-way learner, listening to the teacher’s lectures and not having many chances to exchange ideas and views with other students. Even though there were occasional group presentations, they were usually just for credit and not for sharing useful information.

People often feel that sharing is about acting like they are great. They have to say what they mean, and that what they say has to be 100% correct. This in effect kills the essence of sharing. Many things are not black and white, and there are no standard answers in the real world.

Thanks to Google, Youtube, Medium, and various social media platforms, we live in an era where information is readily available. Even if you cannot find the answer to your question, you will be able to find some relevant experiences that will help you clarify the next step.

As a result, I learned that sharing these days has become easier than ever; not only teachers and high-ranking people can do so. As long as you have an idea, anyone can share their knowledge or experience. I also agree that it’s not only the masters who can share because no matter what stage of your life or career you are in, there are bound to be people behind you. You will likely inspire or benefit others by doing so, and your sharing may even change their lives.

I have received countless letters and private messages over the past few years from people who have expressed their desire to change because they have read my articles, watched my videos, and listened to my sharing, which indirectly changed their career development and even their life trajectory, which I never expected at the beginning. I am very happy about this, but I have also started to be more careful about the message I want to convey, because my content may have a positive or negative impact on my viewers/listeners.

Furthermore, although I mentioned earlier that sharing should be a very personal expression of ideas, I do not need to strive for perfect accuracy with my content. Once people start paying attention to your content, I think it is more or less your responsibility to do your basic homework and focus on making people think or express values through your content instead of simply complaining or expressing negative emotions.

Public sharing seemed awkward at first, since there are so many powerful people in the world, and it seemed scary to expose your opinions to the public. The first time I wrote a formal article in 2016, I was also cautious and fearful, and I always wondered if I had written it correctly. Before publishing it, I was hesitant, but once I got that hurdle crossed, everything else became much easier.

Sharing is better than not sharing at all, because I know what it means.

We can obtain practical information daily because people are willing to share it. It will become apparent to you at the right time that there are subtle connections between different things.

Lastly, I believe that communication is almost indispensable in this day and age since we are constantly in contact with people. When you find it difficult to share your thoughts verbally at the beginning, I recommend you start recording your thoughts by writing short words. This is the most efficient way of organizing your thoughts.

In the long run, sharing will not only help you improve faster, but you will be more motivated to continue doing it because you will get feedback from others, and eventually, you will become more valuable.
